Toronto, ON â€" A large crew of experienced home remodeling and waterproofing contractors pledged their time and resources to help Habitat for Humanity.
"Completely uplifting!" and "Very rewarding and enjoyable!" were the words uttered by volunteers from Total Basement Finishing of Ontario and sister company Clarke Basement Systems. The Ontario-based companies lent a helping hand by pledging their time and efforts to Habitat for Humanity® Toronto.
In early February, fifteen dedicated employees contributed to the Hainford Street development project, an ambitious project that will lead to 16 semi-detached Habitat homes. Employees that volunteered contributed to various projects, ranging from drywall installation, painting, trim work, and outside clean up. Employees from all departments contributed their time, including those from Customer Service, Sales, Production, Accounting, and Marketing.
Sherry Stewart, Customer Service Representative for Clarke Basement Systems, had the following to say about the experience:
"We really got to see what Habitat for Humanity is all about. The whole experience was very inspiring. We were talking about the event for days after and how rewarding it felt to be part of such a big project."
Habitat for Humanity volunteers work seven and a half hour shifts, year-round. They work through all weather conditions, rain or shine, to meet ambitious goals in their efforts to provide housing for those who need it.
Together, Total Basement Finishing of Ontario and Clarke Basement Systems' staffs added a large crew of experienced waterproofing, home remodeling, and home renovation experts to the efforts. With more than 20 years in the industry, they hoped to make a lasting, quality contribution to their local community.
